2005............. ripples, waves, collapse weave are on the agenda, work for the Northland Area Exhibition in May 2005 and the National Exhibition in September in Wellington are keeping me challenged, then there is doubleweave I want to study in-depth this year...let's see how far I get! Here is some of the work I have done so far.

Collapse weave with a twist. The blue is fine cotton
threaded in a log cabin and the black is overtwisted
wool. Did a few of those but only in the last ones did
I use the log cabin colour and weave effect for the
"bubbles"
....more bubbles, this time the while is
a fine Merino that does not shrink and the
black the same overtwisted wool as
in the sample above. On the loom this piece
was 21" wide, finished it only measured 8"

This kneerug/wrap got the award for "best article in the non wearable section"
at this years Northland Area Exhibition in Whangarei.

Yarn used is Merino/Possum/Silk blend in a point twill, feels beautifully soft
and warm. All items made of Possum blended yarns are very light due to the
fact that the Possum fibre is hollow.

Another one of the weavings I call "Bonnie Influences"
This scarf is also an award winner at the same exhibition.
The finer Merino/Possum/Silk blend in the warp is hand
painted, weft is 10/2 Tencel and I called it
"Sahara at Sunset"

Using different fine wool yarns in the warp, the weft
is Tencel in this shawl, the pattern reminding me of
river stones.
"Glowing Hills"
Rayon Chenille scarves in the colours of the seasons.
On this picture summer and autumn look quite similar
where in fact the autumn colours are not as bright as
shown here.
